Lansdowne Street OPEN!

Dear KCBIA Member,

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to each of you for voicing your challenges and concerns throughout the recent Lansdowne upgrade project. Your feedback was invaluable in helping us advocate for your needs during this time. Throughout the project, we maintained continuous dialogue with the City of Kamloops to represent your interests and initiated the impromptu "Fall in Love with Downtown" advertising campaign to support downtown businesses during this period. We thank the City of Kamloops and Extreme Excavating for their efforts and open communication throughout this necessary infrastructure upgrade. We recognize that disruptions can have significant impacts on businesses, and we appreciate the resilience and patience displayed by our members. Unfortunately, some businesses, were unable to withstand the operational strain. We have communicated to the City the importance of optimizing project efficiencies to reduce disruptions and maintain the vitality of our business community.

With truck traffic temporarily removed from Lansdowne and Seymour, we’re letting Kamloops know it’s a great time to explore and shop downtown!

Please find attached the plan for upcoming survey work that will impact downtown traffic with reduced lanes. As well, expect delays November 18th and 19th with paving on 4th Ave from Nicola to Battle.
