Downtown Kamloops Merchant’s Market: July 25 – 28

The vibe is undeniably cool for a hot July in downtown Kamloops. From Thursday through Sunday, enjoy live music, free mural tours, and amazing deals at our annual Merchants Market.

DTWN Night Market: July 27th

After popular demand, the DTWN Night Market returns on Saturday July 27th, 2024, from 4 PM – 9 PM, presented by the Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association (KCBIA) and in partnership with the Misfit Night Market.

Downtown will ignite with a Night Market for all ages. The Night Market is the perfect evening to explore local vendors, enjoy some live entertainment, and play some games. If you don’t feel like walking around, enjoy the party on one of our various patios downtown! Some downtown businesses will also be open for late night shopping until 9 PM for your convenience

Please note that the 300 and 400 blocks of Victoria Street will be closed from 8 AM – 10 PM for this event. These blocks will be pedestrian friendly for one day only. We encourage people to utilize the city parkades on Seymour Street and Lansdowne Street for free weekend parking.

Canada Day Festivities

Kamloops is hosting its annual Canada Day event on Saturday, July 1, in Riverside Park! Join the festivities with a full day of culture, arts, music, and fun. 

Canada Day will kick off with the Lions Club pancake breakfast from 7:00 to 10:30 am. Canada Day ceremonies will officially take place at the Riverside Park Rotary Bandshell at 11:00 am. Afterwards, spend the day discovering local artisans, enjoying multicultural food, stroll around Art in the Park, cooling off in the beer garden, checking out the new spray park and accessible playground, and taking in a wide range of performances at the Riverside Park Rotary Bandshell. The day will wrap up with a brand-new drone show at dusk (approximately 9:30 pm), weather pending.

Red Collar Brewing July 1st BBQ

Red Collar’s annual July 1st BBQ is back again for 2024 – even though Canada Day falls on a Monday this year! Their doors WILL BE OPEN at noon, hot dogs will be grilling, beer will be pouring, cocktails will be shaking.

As always, space is first come, first serve. There will be cocktail features, cask beers, food specials and more!

Music in the Park: July 1 – August 31

The City of Kamloops and BCLC are proud to present another great season of Music in the Park from July 1– August 31, 2024. This signature summer classic has been a part of Kamloops’ cultural and entertainment scene since 1994. The summer concert season brings a variety of blues, rock, classics, country, tribute bands, and more that will appeal to the whole family. 

Free performances take place at the Riverside Park Rotary Bandshell each evening, 7:00–8:30 pm, weather and air quality permitting. Cancellation of a show is at the discretion of the evening performer. The schedule is subject to change without notice. Parking is free at Riverside Park during July and August (except when there are special events at Sandman Centre)

Project X Theatre Productions: July 8 – 27

Project X’s Theatre Under the Trees Festival returns to Prince Charles Park this Summer, running July 8th-27th. This year’s festival features two shows, “Treasure Island” and “Munsch Ado About Nothing”, as well as a schedule full of special family friendly events.

“Treasure Island”  is filled with epic fights, lively pirate songs, and plenty of adventure, this classic story reminds us that sometimes the bravest heroes are also the most unexpected. Best for ages 6+ 

“Munsch Ado About Nothing” was last seen on the Project X stage in 2011, this throwback production follows three down-on-their luck actors on a wild adventure through some of Robert Munsch’s most loved stories. Best for ages 3+

Summer Exhibition Opening Celebration: July 20th

Join the Kamloops Art Gallery on July 20th and honour the new Summer Exhibitions with an exciting celebration!

Curators’ Tour – 5:30 to 6:30pm
Reception – 6:30 to 8:00pm

The reception in the KAG Studios and Atrium includes live music, an art-making area for children, as well as wine sponsored by Twisted Spirits on 3rd, beer from Bright Eye Brewing, and coffee.

Everyone is welcome. Please bring a friend. This is a public event and our opportunity to come together and celebrate the arts in Kamloops.

Kamloops Buskers Festival: July 25-28

Kamloops welcomes the world to beautiful Riverside Park! Professional street performers from the local region, across Canada, and around the world, will converge for the 4th annual Kamloops International Buskers Festival July 25 – 28, 2024! This event is a family oriented, free festival presented on outdoor stages. Tips to Buskers hats welcomed and appreciated!
